| The GBIC is a hot-swappable input/output device that plugs into a Gigabit Ethernet port, linking the module port with the fibre-optic network. There are two physical GBIC models available; one model has a locking handle that secures the GBIC in the module; the other model uses two clips, one on each side of the GBIC, that secure the GBIC in the module.
